Join us to celebrate World Migratory Bird Day! This event highlights the importance of conserving migratory birds and their habitats. Enjoy a day filled with learning and fun, including activities for children and tweens, local environmental booths, and talks by naturalists and authors.

Calvert Library Twin Beaches branch plays host to speakers, events, door prizes and activities to celebrate Calvert County Migratory Bird Day.  Don’t miss these exciting opportunities!

Visit with organizations with information on how you can help migratory birds and their environment:

  • Calvert County Environmental Commission—fun giveaways and info!
  • Baywise/Master Gardeners—learn how to make your home friendly to birds, bees and butterflies!
  • Calvert County Park & Recreation/Calvert Nature Society—check out the spotting scope on the terrace for our neighborhood birds and learn about our Prothonotary Warbler research project and other bird projects.
  • North Beach Nature Center—learn all about the creatures in your own backyard including beautiful monarch butterflies!
  • Maryland Osprey and Nature Festival—a sneak peek at next spring’s Osprey Festival—in North Beach!
  • American Chestnut Land Trust—Play the Great Bird Migration Game and learn all about the challenges that migratory birds face on their journey.

Create a community art project with the children’s librarians at Calvert Library Twin Beaches branch.
