Co-sponsored by the Chesapeake Beach Green Team. Speaker Ryan Cuccia will share best practices for caring for the trees in your lawn. This talk will include practical tips for selecting and caring for the best trees for your situation. We will highlight common mistakes, such as mulch volcanos and harmful vines. Also, visit with community organizations for even more helpful information.

Speaker Ryan Cuccia will share tips and best practices for caring for the trees in your lawn including environmental, cultural and human factors that impact tree health.  

Growing up in Central Maryland, Ryan has been interested in natural resources and the outdoors his entire life. He graduated from West Virginia University in 2013, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Forestry with a major in Forest Resource Management. Shortly after graduation, Ryan joined a forestry consulting firm in West Virginia, managing large, forested properties for timber production. In 2015, Ryan joined Bartlett Tree Experts and shifted his focus to scientific tree care and arboriculture. Ryan held positions as an Arborist Climber and a Plant Health Care Specialist prior to becoming an Arborist Representative in 2018.

An ISA Board Certified Master Arborist, Ryan is also Tree Risk Assessment Qualified (TRAQ) and a Maryland Licensed Tree Expert.

Gary Pendleton has painted extensively around the Mid-Atlantic and beyond. He is a plein air painter in both oil and watercolor, and has worked with scratchboard and printmaking. This exhibit features many of his works with a focus on local scenes.

Learn about the everyday clothing and accessories of American men and women c. 1770-1790, with emphasis on the durable hardware that survives in the archaeological record. Sara Rivers Cofield will bring artifacts such as buttons, buckles, and wearable weapons from the Maryland Archaeological Conservation Laboratory, and some surviving 18th-century garments from her private costume collection.
