Watch "Marathon Man" (1976) on Kanopy

"In this dark thriller, Doc Levy (Roy Scheider) an American secret agent, is killed at the request of an escaped Nazi war criminal Szell (Laurence Olivier). Believing that Doc has stolen a valuable cache of gems, Szell kidnaps Doc's brother Babe (Dustin Hoffman) and attempts to extract information from him using the sadistic methods he practiced as a concentration camp dentist.

Babe escapes but not without breaking his own self-imposed rule of nonviolence. MARATHON MAN traces Babe Levy's progression from pacifistic naif to cynical street-smart scrapper.

Nominated for Best Actor in a Supporting Role (Laurence Olivier) at the Academy Awards. Winner of Best Actor in a Supporting Role (Laurence Olivier) and nominated for Best Director, Best Actor in a Motion Picture (Dustin Hoffman), Best Actress in a Supporting Role (Marthe Keller), and Best Screenplay at the Golden Globes. Nominated for Best Actor (Dustin Hoffman) at the BAFTA Awards.

"As well-crafted escapist entertainment, as a diabolical thriller, the movie works with relentless skill." - Roger Ebert, The Chicago Sun-Times." (From Kanopy)

Watch "War Games" (1983) on Kanopy

"Would you like to play a game? Computer hacker David Lightman (Matthew Broderick) can break the most intricate secret codes and master even the most difficult computer games. But when he unwittingly taps into the Defense Department's war computer, he initiates a confrontation of global proportions—World War III. Together with his girlfriend (Ally Sheedy) and a computer genius (John Wood), David must race against time to outwit his opponent … and prevent a nuclear Armageddon!" - (From Kanopy)
