Robots and outer space, all things science fiction await you in this month's Teen Book Box! Register to pick up your August Teen Book Box at Twin Beaches Branch!

Boxes can be picked up from August 15 - August 31. Each library location is participating, so be sure to choose the one you want to pick your box up at! We will have a limited supply each month, so if registration fills up, add your name to the wait list. Feel free to decorate the box and share your masterpieces with us!


Fairview Branch will have 10 boxes.

Prince Frederick will have 15 boxes.

Southern Branch will have 10 boxes.

Twin Beaches Branch will have 10 boxes.

If you would like to discuss your book and/or activities, please join us on Discord! These boxes were created intentionally for teens 13-18 years old. Some materials chosen will not be suitable for children under the age of 13. It is strongly suggested that parents/legal guardians review all library materials before checking items out. Oscar and Olive, who reside on her pier, offer endless entertainment and inspired her to share her love of family and nature by writing her book, "Oscar and Olive Osprey: A Family Takes Flight." She teaches children and adults about the importance of a healthy environment in preserving our resources and wildlife.

Begin to wrap up Calvert County's World Migratory Bird Day celebration by joining local naturalists and North Beach staff at the North Beach Wetlands Overlook Park to study birds in the North Beach marsh. North Beach marsh is a bird-watching hotspot and has hosted several rare species over the years.
