We've got a double headed mystery extravaganza prepared for this February for Movie Musings!
First up is an Agatha Christie Classic, 1957's "Witness for the Prosecution." Directed by the Hollywood legend Billy Wilder ("Sunset Boulevard," "Double Indemnity," "Some Like It Hot"), this murder mystery is wonderfully lead by Sir Wilfred (Charles Laughton), a lawyer who is representing a man who claims to be innocent, but all signs point to guilt! With wit, passion, and a little bit of sass, come witness one of the great courtroom dramas of the era!

1984's "Blood Simple" is the first feature length film from the legendary Coen Brothers, and sees them already at home in their "hayseed" aesthetic: empty bars full of the unsavory type, wide expanses of country dotted with sad tales, and M. Emmet Walsh delivering a standout performance that will make your skin crawl! It's also the first film from Frances McDormand, who would eventually marry director Joel Coen. "Blood Simple" is a story of violent characters who all only have half the pieces to the puzzle, and you'll just have to see who's still standing by the end!
