Learn to spot scams and discover effective methods for preventing them. This presentation will be made available in person and on Zoom.

How can we navigate the digital world safely? Join us in welcoming  Dr. Troy Anderson from UMD extension office. Topics include:

  • How to avoid scams, and what steps to take if you've been targeted 
  • How to identify scams like cryptocurrency schemes and phishing
  • Ways to protect yourself from online course scams

Dr. Troy Anderson is the Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS) Extension Agent for Calvert County.  His area of focus is in Consumer Behavior & Personal Finance. He also has expert-level experience teaching Career and Technical Education (CTE) courses such as Family & Consumer Sciences across the curriculum. Dr. Anderson earned his PHD in Education from Southwestern College.
