Join us as we kickoff the 2025 OMOB Programming Season! Carole and Jeffery will engage in a transdisciplinary conversation about the background, approach, and inspirations for the book. There will also be a short presentation by the Maryland State Archives about you can research Maryland history on your own. Audience Q&A will follow.
*This event was made possible in part by the Institute of Museum and Library Services and is presented in conjunction with the 2025 National Book Festival by the Library of Congress. Kin: Rooted in Hope is Maryland’s “Great Read” selection for the festival.
If you’re planning to use Kin: Rooted in Hope for your library, school, or book club, this event will be a wonderful way to learn more before your own discussion. Such conversations give helpful and engaging insight into how the writer crafted their work and what they intended, preparing us to read thoughtfully and analytically.
