Here are some fun descriptions from Kanopy:
"Blindness": "From acclaimed director Fernando Meirelles comes this extraordinarily intense and gritty thriller based on Nobel Prize-winning Jose Saramago's novel. Led by a powerful all-star cast featuring Julianne Moore, Mark Ruffalo and Danny Glover, this unflinching story begins when a plague of blindness strikes and threatens all of humanity. One woman (Moore) feigns the illness to share an uncertain fate in quarantine, where society is breaking down as fast as their crumbling surroundings."
and
"The Truman Show": "Truman (Jim Carrey) doesn’t realize that his quaint hometown is a giant studio set run by a visionary producer/director/creator (Ed Harris), that folks living and working there are Hollywood actors, and even his incessantly bubbly wife is a contract player. Nominated for Best Supporting Actor (Ed Harris), Best Director and Best Screenplay at the Academy Awards. Winner of Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor at the Golden Globes. "One of the smartest, most inventive movies in memory, it manages to be as endearing as provocative." - Rita Kempley, Washington Post"
