Learn the basics of investing beginning at your first job. With investments, it is never too late or too early to start planning for your financial future. Presented by financial educator Kaula Jacks.

Jacks is a financial educator, youth advocate and community leader with a passion for helping individuals and families build stronger futures.

Born and raised in Calvert County, Maryland, Kaula graduated from Huntingtown High School in 2011 before earning a basketball scholarship to Shaw University in Raleigh, North Carolina. While studying Athletic Training, she developed a passion for helping others improve their health and well-being, which led to nearly a decade in the health and fitness industry. During that time, she coached individuals in developing healthier habits, building confidence, and achieving lasting lifestyle changes.

In 2021, Kaula expanded her mission into financial education, becoming licensed in life insurance and investments. Today, she serves as a Regional Vice President, leading a team of licensed financial professionals, and as a Financial Advisor overseeing more than $1.3 million in client assets. She is passionate about making financial education accessible and empowering families to reduce debt, protect their income, grow wealth, and prepare for the future through informed decision-making.

Driven by a desire to break cycles of financial hardship, Kaula founded Kids Fundz, a financial literacy program that introduces children ages 5–15 to the principles of earning, saving, investing, borrowing, and planning for the future. Her goal is to equip the next generation with practical financial knowledge and to help young people recognize that their greatest financial advantage is time. In September 2024, she accepted a position at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church as Director of Discipleship and Transformation, where she leads the youth ministry and invests in the spiritual development of young people.

Whether speaking about faith, financial empowerment, leadership, or personal growth, Kaula's mission is to inspire others to build strong foundations that create lasting impact for themselves, their families, and their communities.
