While learning about buffer gardens, visit the Smithsonian Water/Ways exhibit at the library. The exhibit explores the centrality of water in our lives including its effect on the environment and climate, its practical role in agriculture and economic planning and its impact on culture and spirituality. The Water/Ways installation is part of Museum on Main Street a unique collaboration between the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service (SITES), Maryland Humanities and Calvert Library.
