Books in Bloom is a community event to make book inspired floral arrangements. There are no wrong designs! All are welcome! This is a fun floral design to make representing the 2023 theme of "connections" through your own inspiration of any adult or children's book at Calvert county libraries.  We encourage you to check out the book to display with your floral arrangement.

Please sign up at the library you would like to display your arrangement at. Please do not use very fragrant flowers in your display and it should not hang down over the display bookshelf or table. Have fun with your creativity but keep the floral aspect of the interpretation. 

We would love to have the community join us in the event.  

This event sponsored by Calvert Garden Club          

Attend a demonstration classes to learn tips and tricks to floral design. This is a great opportunity for homeschoolers, clubs, scouts, or anyone who loves flowers an opportunity to make something to share with our community.

There will be two demonstration classes:

At Calvert Library Prince Frederick on Thursday, Feb 23 6:30-7:30pm with Shahla Butler

At Calvert Library Southern Branch, Saturday, Feb. 25 1-2:30pm with Barbara Whited

Please join us for one of the classes or both!

Ask your friends, family and neighbors to join us. 

Arrangement delivery to chosen library:

  • Drop off on Wednesday morning, March 15 between 9am-12pm
  • Pick up on Saturday afternoon, March 18 between  3-5pm
