Pride Event: Exploring LGBT+ History in Rural Maryland
Led with help from Ben Egerman
Monday, June 23
5:00pm - 7:00pm
Calvert Library Prince Frederick
Combined Meeting Rooms 1, 2, and 3Join us as we explore the histories of LGBT+ identifying people in the rural parts of Maryland, including right here in Calvert County.
Feel like there's a lack of LGBT+ people represented in rural Maryland's history? Get ready for that to change!
Building on our program from last year, Calvert Library is inviting Ben Egerman from Enoch Pratt Free Library back for a talk about LGBT+ people living in the rural parts of Maryland. This program will discuss the histories of people who lived in Western, Eastern, and, of course, Southern Maryland! It'll be an exciting and informative night celebrating our common heritage with "Pride!"
This program celebrates the drag queens, same-sex couples and gender non-conforming people being themselves and thriving, all in the more rural parts of our state! We look forward to celebrating how groups and individuals have contributed to the richness of our home and given our communities their distinctive character!
For accessibility accommodations, please contact us at least 2 weeks before the event. 410-535-0291.
