Tom Kirby is a local artist who paints mostly in an abstract style using acrylic paints. Currently, Tom exhibits at the CalvArt Gallery in Prince Frederick, MD, and with the artist residents of Asbury Solomons Retirement Community.

Tom Kirby's formal education was in physics, mathematics and astronomy with a master's degree in physics from New Mexico State University. He began to take art lessons in 1978 to satisfy a long-standing interest in art. Over the years he has taken classes in pencil, charcoal, watercolor, acrylic, oil painting and sculpture. Tom's style and vision is influenced by his science background and curiosity about the universe and all things in it.

Teen Book Box Pickup July 16 - 31 (SO) - Summer Chills

It's the triumphant return of the Teen Book Box! During the summer, we will be checking out free boxes each month to teens who register. Inspired by subscription boxes like Loot Crate, each box will have a theme and contain a library book to borrow, a free book to keep, a fun activity, and a snack. Boxes can be picked up from July 16 to July 31. The theme for July is "Summer Chills."
