HSQRB- A Celebration of Queer Stories in SOMD
Wednesday, June 17
6:00pm - 7:00pm
Calvert Library Prince Frederick
Combined Meeting Rooms 1, 2, and 3Learn about how one librarian started a project to collect and preserve Queer experiences in Southern Maryland.
The History of Southern Maryland Queer Recordings Archive Base, HSQRAB, or simply “Horseshoe Qrab” was founded by Lily Crunkleton in 2025. Seeing a lack of historical data about Queer people living in Southern Maryland, she decided to change that, and just started talking and recording. These first round of interviews are now in the process of being transcribed and uploaded to Digital Maryland. lily has presented her work throughout Maryland, and continues to collect stories. She was also recently featured in The Baltimore Banner.
Lily Crunkleton is a librarian, drag artist, and the founder of HSQRAB.
